Conference Information :

Meeting Location:

CIAA 2006 will be held at Barry Lam Hall, National Taiwan University. The location of Barry Lam Hall is shown on the university campus map. As shown on the map, Barry Lam Hall is about 10 minutes (walking) away from the Leader Hotel and the Howard International House.

Paper and Poster Presentations:

The auditorium (in which the conference talks will be given) is equipped with both a conventional overhead projector and a digital projector. We will also provide a Windows-based PC equipped with PowerPoint, PDF, and PostScript viewers for oral presentations.

For each of the poster presentations, a board will be provided on which 12 A4-size papers can be mounted.

Computer and Wireless Access:

Wireless connection to the Internet is available at the conference site. In addition, a PC room will be allocated for conference participants to access the Internet.

Transportation:

Taipei International Airport (a.k.a. Chiang Kai-Shek (CKS) Airport) is located about 40 km southwest of Taipei city. What follows are two suggested ways of transportation from the airport to your hotel (or National Taiwan University (NTU)). (Some hotels also provide pick-up services at the airport. Please check with your hotel directly.)

By Bus

There are frequent bus services between CKS International Airport and important destinations around Taipei. Buses can be taken from the Arrival Passenger Reception Areas of both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at the airport. Once you are in Taipei city, you may then take either a taxi or the Metro (MRT) to your destination. Some buses have a stop at Howard Plaza Hotel (one of the suggested hotels on the accommodation page of CIAA’06), from there you can take a taxi to your hotel or National Taiwan University. Taxis in Taipei are relatively inexpensive -- NT$70 for the 1st km, and NT$5 for each additional 300m (US$1 = NT$32, approximately). During the late night-early morning period, a 20% surcharge is imposed for taxi fares. For MRT, the closest exit to National Taiwan University is the Gongguan Station.

By Taxi

A faster but more expensive way to get to your hotel (or NTU) is by taxi. Airport taxis charge according to the meter plus a 50% surcharge (highway tolls not included). Taxis are available at CKS Airport around the clock. Typical fare from the airport to Taipei city is around NT$1,100.

From Hotel to Barry Lam Hall of NTU:

The Howard International House and the Leader Hotel are both a short walk (approx. 10 minutes) from the conference location (map).

The YoXing Regency is near by the metro (MRT) Guting station. From this hotel, you may either take MRT to Gongguan Station first and then walk to the venue, or simply take a taxi to the conference location. (MRT Gongguan station is right in front of Leader Hotel.)

From the Howard Plaza Hotel (map) and the Far Eastern Plaza (map), the most convenient way to reach NTU is by taxi.

Lunches:

Lunches will be provided during the three days of the conference.

Conference Proceedings:

The conference proceedings of CIAA 2006 will be published by Springer as Volume 4094 in the LNCS series.
